Raku lidded container
This container was made on the pottery wheel thrown without a bottom and then altered to an oval shape and bottom added. It was fired in my electric kiln and then fired again in my Raku kiln. It was pulled out at 1850 degrees then put into a container with combustible material once it catches on fire I put the lid on this causes a lack of oxygen and the smoke penetrates the cracks in the glaze causing the crackle effect. Please note that Raku Pottery is not food or water safe that is decorative only.
